Sydney Wedding Ceremony Music FAQ
How do I choose my wedding ceremony music?
First decide if you will have pre-recorded or live. If you have a DJ for your reception, they may be able to provide your wedding ceremony music. Live music is also nice and they can easily adapt the tempo to suit your walk, and also manage any delays or unforeseen alterations to the wedding timetable. Also think about the mood you are trying to create – clam and mellow, or funky and upbeat? Consider your wedding ceremony location – indoor or outdoor, and the number of guests – small or large number. Will you require amplification and will your musicians or the venue supply this?
How many songs do I need for my wedding ceremony music?
Typically there is a song for you to walk down the aisle to, this can be the same for everyone, or a different piece for each member of wedding couple and also for the bridal party. Another song or two whilst you are signing the register, then a recessional piece when the married couple exit. Your wedding ceremony musicians will often play other pieces whilst the guests are arriving and mingling after the ceremony.
Do I need to choose my pre-wedding music?
No, you can leave it up to your wedding ceremony musicians. Discuss with them prior whether you have a preference for anything in particular – classical music, jazz and swing, easy listening, lively and upbeat – they’re they professionals and will work with your wedding theme and musical tastes.
